Canine
Massage
You might be asking "Why does my dog need a massage?
I pet it all the time." You are not alone in your
curiosity. Your canine friend needs a massage for the
same reasons you do! Think about how much dogs use their
muscles every day, especially if you have a competing
dog or a working dog. The benefits are not only physical,
but emotional as well. Is your rescue dog still shy and
timid? Are you worried about hip dysplasia and arthritis?
Loving, healing touch is beneficial to all beings-- think
how often your dog comes up just begging to be rubbed!
Dogs understand the importance of touch and massage to
their everyday health and happiness. Help yours stay
well.

Why Your Dog Needs Massage:
-
Massage is great preventative care to help your
dog have a long, healthy and happy life
-
Calm nervous temperaments- perfect for rescue
dogs and show dogs that get butterflies
-
Strengthen the bond between you and your pup-
massage is the perfect way to help socialize your
new puppy or skittish dog
-
Massage aids athletic ability & can help improve
performance
-
Joint problems? Arthritis? Injury recovery? Try
massage! It helps reduce muscle atrophy due to inactivity,
disuse, and recovery
-
Massage helps reduce muscle tension, enhances
muscle function & muscles tone, increases range
of motion...The list goes on!
-
Boost your pup’s healing abilities with
massage! Massage increases blood flow in the body
bringing more oxygen and nutrients to injured areas.
Nutrients and oxygen are both essential for healing
-
Massage alleviates pain and aids in recovery.
Use massage after surgery (with your vet’s
permission) to help heal the body quicker and help
your canine friend feel more comfortable.
-
Dogs are notorious liars. They hate to disappoint
and don’t want you to know they are hurting
so they compensate. By the time we figure it out,
the dog is often in excrutiating pain. Who wants
to live like that?
-
Competitive dogs can use massage as a pre-event
warm up and post-event cool down. It can also improve
the appearance of your pup’s topline!

About Canine Massage
Presently, canine massage services are offered
primarily in your Summit County home. If you know of
a group of people/dogs that might be interested in having
massage, feel free to contact us to see if we are able
to come to you.
Like massage for people, dog massage is done on a massage
table. We ask that the dog's human caregiver be present
during the session for a few reasons- you know your dog
better than anyone else, you can help control your dog,
and you can learn about your dog and better understand
what is going on with its body.
Sessions generally last about an hour-- sometimes more
or less. The session will begin with gathering some information
about your dog and watching the dog move (preferably
outside on a leash). Each session is customized to your
dog each time we work together. If you have specific
questions or concerns, feel free to bring them up.
Please make sure your dog has had a recent vet check-up
and is in relatively good health. If there are recent
injuries, illnesses, etc. make sure you consult your
vet first. Massage is in no way a substitute for proper
veterinary care and your massage therapist is not a veterinarian.
Please be sure your dog is up to date on all vaccinations
and be prepared to show the appropriate records- this
is for the safety of everyone involved.
Canine massage sessions are $60 each.
Travel charges of $10 to $20 may apply
outside the general Park City area
and are per visit, not per dog. Prices
will be adjusted if your session is
substantially shorter than the norm.
Please contact
us with your questions and comments.
